Fallout from the population explosion

That's us, according to Walt Kelly, celebrated daily in the 'where has this been all my life' blog Whirled of Kelly. Pogo, Churchy, and Howland take the yacht on a shakedown cruise. "This ain't a yacht, it's a yak...."

Hmm...Copyright violation anyone? Anyone? Most of Kelly's stuff won't be public domain until 2048.

I wouldn't so lightly state copyright violation except there is almost no attempt at discussion of the strips. Not even a feeble effort at fair use.

What a grump....

The guy makes a fair use claim at the bottom of his pages and makes the (legally irrelevant, I know) distinction between commercial and non-commercial re-uses. And it can't be entirely irrelevant ethically that he worships Kelly.

Legally, he'd probably be broken-hearted if the Kelly estate, which used to be vigorous about this stuff, made a claim. Ethically, he's a prince.

Tulk calling someone else -- ANYONE else -- a "grump"?

I'm speechless.
